October 12 - How & When to Use Variegated Yarns - 9:00AM -12:00PM

Variegated yarns are yarns dyed with more than one color and are an invitation to be more creative. Discover how designers work with them. Explore the use of ombre yarns, dynamic colors with short repeats and subtle monochromatic tonal yarns. Learn about color theory—hue, value and chroma—and the relationship between stitch patterns and the natural pattern formed by the yarn. Knit a pattern in class that may inspire your next project.

October 12 - Intro to Double Knitting - 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Take the mystery out of double knitting. Learn how to create reversible knitting with matching but color-reversed patterns on each side. Work an introductory project that incorporates casting-on in 2 colors, locked selvedge edges, separated dual stockinette, interlocking layers, increases, decreases and binding off. Enjoy twice the knitting pleasure, and twice the reward from your finished handiwork.

October 13 - Double Increases for Raglan Sleeves, Shawls, Cowls and Scarves -  9:00AM - 12:00PM

Acquire a collection of beautiful double increase stitches that can provide the perfect complement to the widest variety of stitch patterns. Work a sampler with seven distinctive mirrored, central stitch and decorative increases. Walk away with a pattern for a cowl, scarf or wrap that uses all seven new increase stitches.

November 20 - How & When to Use Variegated Yarns - 9:00AM -12:00PM (repeated from Oct. 12)

Variegated yarns are yarns dyed with more than one color and are an invitation to be more creative. Discover how designers work with them. Explore the use of ombre, dynamic colors with short repeats and subtle monochromatic tonal yarns. Learn about color theory—hue, value and chroma—and the relationship between stitch patterns and the natural pattern formed by the yarn. Knit a pattern in class that may inspire your next project.

November 21 - Intro to Mosaic Knitting - 9:00AM - 12:00PM

Enter the wonderful world of knitting 2-color jacquard patterns that are worked with only a single color of yarn at a time. It is a creative form of slip stitch work that reduces the number of floats on the wrong side by half, and results in a lighter weight sweater, scarf or shawl. Learn to read and write patterns. In class start knitting your own unique cowl or scarf pattern. You may fall in love with mosaic knitting.

November 21th - Designing with Floats - 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Instead of hiding yarn floats on the wrong side of your work, make them the star of your next creation. Learn the principles of float management, creating and picking up floats that result in both single- and double-sided float pattern design. Receive four stitch patterns and work a sampler that may inspire your next project. When it comes to fun knitting, this technique could be a new way to float your boat!

Every Other Tuesday - Top Down Knitting - 1:00PM-4:00PM

Join an on-going class for top down knitting every other Tuesday until Nov. 19th. Learn how to tailor as you knit a pattern, and to make a garment without seams to be sewn. Knitters' Haven members - $120 for 4 sessions, non-members $150 - Pattern Included
