Join me for a knitting vacation

and learn the magic of Helical Knitting

November 8-13, 2026

I look forward to sharing a relaxing week of knitting in this beautiful desert valley. For more than a century, Palm Springs has welcomed those seeking warmth, inspiration, and a slower pace.

It began with sanitariums drawn to the natural hot springs in the late 1800s. Over time, Hollywood film stars arrived, followed by architects, designers, artists, and golf enthusiasts who shaped the mid-20th century character we still enjoy today.

This special knitting vacation is designed for a small, intimate group of knitting enthusiasts. Each morning we will gather for a three-hour class where you will discover helical knitting: an amazingly simple way to work 1-row stripes in the round without jogs or floats. You’ll surely love it! You will have the opportunity to choose your patterns and yarns that use this elegant technique, whether you prefer to work on a hat, cowl, gloves, or socks.

The program fee includes individual tutoring in the afternoons and evenings whenever you need guidance. You will also enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast each morning, along with beverages and fresh fruit available throughout the day. On our final evening we will gather at my home for cocktails and dinner while I share some current thoughts on knitting trends.

After our first morning class, I will provide a concierge guide to the area and lead a short walking tour to introduce you to some of my favorite spots for dining and exploring. Once class concludes each day, you will be free to enjoy the remainder of your vacation time as you wish. We have also planned a special excursion to Sunnylands, the historic estate completed in 1966 that has welcomed eight U.S. presidents, the Queen of England, Winston Churchill, and many other distinguished guests. I will provide tickets for the tour, after which we can enjoy lunch and some peaceful knitting together in the beautiful gardens.

When I discovered helical knitting, I couldn’t resist designing an entire collection of patterns.

In our daily classes, you'll learn how to create designs in two to five colors that are reversible, with no jogs or floats on the inside. This simple technique feels like magic.

Choose one of five helical designer knitting patterns plus your preferred yarn colors to suit your personal style.
