Doug Eyelet Sweater PATTERN (Downloadable)

In this design the stockinette yoke combined with a generous grid of open eyelet and fitted ribbing on the body and arms works to expand the chest and diminish the waist. The worsted weight in our cotton blend yields a sweater that's comfortable year-round. This top down design without seams and with invisible raglan increases provides techniques that add up to a pattern that is both interesting and rewarding. Haven’t knitted a top-down sweater before? Don’t worry. Here’s a free, printable PDF of top-down knitting instructions. And the result of your needlework could add up to a great gift for someone else, or yourself.

The kit for this sweater, complete with pattern and yarn, comes in a backpack-style project bag. On the front of the backpack is a zippered pouch with a porthole. You can insert the ball of yarn from which you’re knitting and run the yarn through the porthole, so if you like, you can even knit while walking down the street.
