Today, I am close to finishing what I have been calling my summer sweater. It is a light weight, rather loosely knit pullover. With an added feature - rows of elongated stitches. I find these stitches irresistible. I have used them on other designer knitting patterns for which you will find links below.

Actually this is the second time I have knit this pattern. I created the original 20 years ago when I discovered a little Euroflax linen in my stash. But I was doubtful that there was enough yarn for a sweater, so I thought a light open knit for summer with elongated stitches might work. And it did. Since then every time I wear that sweater people ask me for the pattern. But I never wrote down the pattern, I just made it up as I knitted.
Then I discovered Diversa, a perfect summer yarn. With 74% cotton and 26% viscose it is a delight to knit and blooms nicely when blocked. So, while traveling to Italy recently for my mosaic knitting course at The Watermill I took along this new project.
I'll share it soon. I think It will become my favorite summer sweater, and an excellent choice for fall and spring too.
