Meditative knitting can be an alternate name for creating a beautiful wrap. James’ wrap designer patterns can be very relaxing, but the results are beautiful expressions of sophisticated knitting techniques.
“James taught me to use knitting as my daily meditation. I’m still an overworked restauranteur, but one that has more patience and less stress.” – Edith C.
This could be the softest, lightest scarf you will ever make.
Designer Knitting Pattern When I first saw Ecopuno yarn in white I immediately thought of light, fluffy snow. Snowflakes melt in your hand and this yarn seems to do the same.
I began to conceive snowflakes, large and small, fashioned from tiny eyelets. But I found all the options for creating eyelets disappointing. Needing them to be symmetrical, I created my own unique stitch. So, as you work this pattern, you’ll learn the new James’ Symmetrical Eyelet stitch.
And you’ll discover that this blend of the softest cotton with merino and alpaca is remarkable. What makes it so remarkable is the fact that it is 75% cotton, but you’re sure to believe it is entirely merino and alpaca. It is like knitting with air, when the air is filled with delicate snowflakes. ~James

This designer knitting pattern is worked sideways in ribbing and drop stitches. You’ll be pleasantly surprised, by this open, airy summer tunic or wrap.
Designer Knitting Pattern Charlotte was created for Solo Lino, the amazing recycled linen yarn that is soft, silky and oh so drapey. This pattern was named after Charlotte Amalie on St. John in the US Virgin Islands, because when it is worn the pattern opens revealing waves, reminiscent of the island’s beaches. This beautiful tunic that can be dressed up or down over tights, shorts, a skirt, or maybe silk evening pants. The tunic pairs two matching squares, front and back with no neck shaping because the fabric drapes naturally. If you prefer a summery wrap just knit one long piece and voila, you have a dreamy new addition to your wardrobe.

Marilyn Wrap/Scarf Designer Knitting Pattern
Regular price

This design uses eight patterns that are mirrored in a sequence from end to end.
When I wanted to create a wrap and scarf that is truly reversible, I searched through my collection of over 200 reversible stitch patterns. Then selected a few that are equally beautiful on both sides. The result is 16 different stitches.
For the yarn, I decided on two options: Basis, a blend of cotton, alpaca and cashmere; or Solo Lino, 80% recycled linen, 20% linen. Both are remarkable. Basis because its 75% cotton but you’re sure to believe it is entirely alpaca and cashmere. It does not feel, look or knit like a yarn that’s mostly cotton. The blended strand of alpaca and cashmere is wrapped in micro thin strands of cotton, which leave a glow of ultra-soft coziness. And Solo Lino because it doesn’t have the stiffness of linen yarn, instead its delightfully silky.

Audrey Mosaic Wrap Designer Knitting Pattern
Regular price
$ 10.00

Designer Knitting Pattern This design will surprise you for two reasons. It may look complicated, but you’ll discover it’s rather simple. The mosaic knitting technique is the most delightful way to do color work. You knit each row with only one color at a time incorporating slip stitches and eliminating half of the floats on the back side of your fabric. The second surprise is the yarn. Ecopuno looks, feels and behaves like the beautiful blend of alpaca and merino that it is, but it’s 72% cotton. So, be prepared to be surprised as you work this project and delighted when you finish it.

This designer knitting pattern uses a magical technique. It is called the magic knot, because it allows you to add dashes of color throughout the project without leaving yarn tails. If you didn’t believe in magic before you will now.
Designer Knitting Pattern The Merlin Magic Knot Wrap is a beginner level project that produces results any advanced knitter will admire. While working in simple, meditative stockinette, you can introduce dashes of color whenever you feel inspired. Each time inspiration strikes you will join the new color with the magic knot, then at the end of your dash of color tie the magic knot again returning to the original color. This remarkably simple technique is extremely reliable when working with yarns that are not slippery. A bit of friction between the two yarns does the trick. All the yarn tails are trimmed off each knot as you work so there is no extra finishing. The best part is you have a wrap that is your own unique creation.

Like linen, hemp is remarkably durable yet gets softer with each washing. And perhaps more importantly a perfect example of sustainability. It is stronger and softer than cotton, will last twice as long and will not mildew. An acre of hemp will produce as much fiber as 2 to 3 acres of cotton. Cotton grows only in moderate climates and requires more water than hemp, which is also frost tolerant and grows in all 50 states, including Alaska. Isn’t that amazing? While pesticides and herbicides are used in the production of other fibers, hemp requires none. It is truly a wonder fiber.
