When I designed a collection of tie knitting patterns I felt certain men would wear then, and they would be knit mostly by women. I was right, most of my tie patterns have been knit by women, but I was surprised by the number of ties they knitted for themselves. In retrospect, I feel a bit foolish as women have been wearing ties and bow ties for decades. From Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn, Twiggy and Princess Diana to Nicole Kidman, Annie Lennox, Madonna, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Lady Gaga…the list goes on. As for my designs, they range from a unique tie with the two strands interwoven to a classic checkered bowtie in your choice of silk or cotton blend. All have been loved by the ladies and the gentleman, and they make an excellent quick knit holiday gift.
