Linen has huge potential for recycling because it’s 100% biodegradable, strong, moth resistant and made from flax plant fibers. Linen recycling is among the leading initiatives fueling recycling. It minimizes energy consumption, the need for raw materials, and reducing water and air pollution. Each year, on average the U.S. generates about 25 billion pounds of textile waste. The textile industry is the second largest contributor to water pollution globally. Lana Grossa is a manufacturer of yarns with recycled linen, cotton and nylon. I chose Lana Grossa's Solo Lino for my Charlotte pattern because it is 80% recycled linen, 20% fresh linen…and because it is beautiful. — James
