James' Knit Notes

What's on my needles? Diagonal Knitting

This brilliantly simple pattern produces a transparent parallelogram. The result is a perfect summer pattern for scarves or wraps that is worked without increasing on one side and decreasing on the other. Here's how: Cast-on an even number of stitches • Row 1: K1, *YO, K2tog; rep from * to last st, K1. • Rows 2 and 4: Purl. • Row 3: K2, *YO, K2tog; rep from * to end of row. • Repeat these 4 rows. Now, have fun while catching rays or keeping cool in the shade.
