In German zauber means magic. When I discovered Zauberperlen from Schoppel, the creative German yarn manufacturer, I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of magic it possessed. They have taken little plies of yarn in two colors and by changing the number of plies created a sequence of seven little balls of yarn.

First I tried knitting the colors in sequence. It felt like a typical ombre yarn. Then I used a more spontaneous choice of color and the magic happened. It was like  working with a variegated yarn but I had all the control over the colors. It was more beautiful and more creative. Now that’s magic!
