When I discovered the helical knitting technique, I couldn’t resist designing an entire collection of patterns. It is a remarkably simple way to work 1-row, 2-color stripes in the round. Magically, there are no jogs and no floats on the inside. In this case it is applied to an equally simple fingerless glove pattern. It amounts to a tube with generous bands of ribbing at each end and thumb hole in the center. Fold the ribbing over to reveal the fingers, or keep it closed to keep them warm. How’s that for simple?
