Meet Sherlock. Inspired by the legendary Mr. Holmes and his renowned houndstooth print hat, our scarf is a modern take on the classic print.

The softest cashmere from Inner Mongolia is knit in the round, there is no wrong side. So, the fact that the yarn floats are invisible is no mystery. The result is a scarf that is luxurious and timeless and even perhaps worn by Sherlock, if he could have had one.

This pattern includes instructions, a list of all abbreviations, and a glossary of terms. Plus, a link is provided to Knitting Help on my web site.

This luxurious, hand-dyed yarn with subtle variation provides ultimate softness and a beautiful drape. Dry clean or hand wash and lay flat to dry.

This scarf is a bit deceptive. It looks more difficult than it actually is.

Designer Knitting Pattern
Using only knit and purl stitches that shift sideways one stitch each row rather miraculously creates this irresistible zigzag pattern. While the design was written for HiKoo’s wonderful CoBaSi+, The weight, warmth, drape and even length are all up to you. So, be creative try any of our cashmere, alpaca, cotton, merino, llama or linen yarns and design your interpretation of this simple yet stylish scarf. We’re certain you’ll get lots of compliments.

Yarn:
This scarf was designed for the following yarns:

HiKoo’s CoBaSi DK
55% Cotton, 16% Bamboo, 8% Silk, 21% Elastic Nylon
This fiber blend is wool-free to avoid irritation or overheating. It's soft and gentle on the hands with a wool-like stretch. The elastic nylon helps any garment hold its shape and it's machine washable.

Euroflax
100% Linen
This linen yarn has exceptional softness that is achieved by fine splitting the long flax fibers and double-boiling the yarn during production. The result is a strong, easy-to-care-for yarn that grows softer each time you wash it. Machine washable and dryable.

Skeins needed = 2 or more, depending on desired length

Gauge:

HiKoo CoBaSi+: 24 sts and 30 rows = 4"/10cm

Euroflax: 22 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm
